F. Lee Bailey bought the company in 1970 and quickly turned on the sales and marketing machine with a flashy ad campaign and a peak production of 109 helicopters in 1977. Under his tenure, Enstrom yielded the 280C, which was later named by Fortune Magazine as one of the 25 best factory-made products in the United States.
