The 480 series of Enstrom turbine helicopters were introduced upon
FAA certification in November 1993. It quickly established itself as
the best value-for-the-money aircraft in the light turbine class. In
2001, the 480B was introduced sporting more useful load and more
power. Recent improvements to this model include emergency pop-out
floats, increased altitude at take-off and landing, increased
warranty, a better made, more cost efficient tail rotor pitch link
and an EMS configuration.
