India Heats Up For Enstrom

Menominee, MI, February 18, 2009 – Enstrom Helicopter Corp. and Monarch Aviation are excited to announce the sale of 2 more 480B turbine helicopters to India.

The first helicopter was sold to Mr. Ashok Sawhny,  President of Monarch International Aviation (MIA), and will be used by Monarch as a demonstrator as well as for commercial use.

The stunning silver and red helicopter is equipped with a factory air-conditioner for the hot Indian climate; as well as partial leather seats for VIP luxury.  The second helicopter was sold to Orissa Stevedores Ltd., and will be used for corporate transport.

Monarch Aviation has proven especially adept at navigating India’s unique paperwork requirements and regulations.  “Mr. Sawhny was the first private individual to receive a  No Objection Certificate from Min of Civil Aviation  to  operate  the helicopter services on  Non-schedule Operators Permit (NSOP) in India,” says Enstrom’s Director of Sale & Marketing, Mr. Tracy Biegler.  “This means he can use the helicopter for passenger charter use and demonstration purposes.  We hope that this will pave the way for future private helicopter ownership in India.”

Monarch International Aviation sees much more potential beyond these next two aircraft.  “There are a lot of people in India, but only a handful of helicopters,” says  Group Captain M.K. Labroo, CEO of Monarch International .  “The market must grow, and it is growing.  We are seeing a progressive demand for both turbine helicopters and piston trainers.  Enstrom’s are low cost   and have the requisite performance necessary for our demanding environment.  This is making them very popular. Further, they can be delivered just within  three months of  their booking.
