Enstrom Gears Up In Bulgaria
Menominee, MI, February 18, 2009
– Enstrom Helicopter Corp. recently delivered it’s first
480B destined for Bulgaria to Fortuna Air, based in the
city of Veliko Tarnovo. The stunning black and gold
turbine helicopter will be used primarily for
agricultural spraying, and is equipped with the first
production 480B ag-spray kit from Isolair Inc. When not
spraying crops, the helicopter will do duty as a
commercial aicraft and search and rescue ship, equipped
with pop-out floats and a cargo hook for short-haul
rescue.
“We
are very excited to be putting a new 480B with Fortuna
Air,” stated Tracy Biegler, Director of Sales &
Marketing for Enstrom Helicopter. “With Bulgaria
joining the European Union, they are unable to fly many
of their old aircraft. The 480B represents the future
of their fleet.”
According to Michael Powell, President of Isolair, the
480B is a natural for the ag-spray market. “The 480B is
really a great platform for spraying. It is very
responsive, yet easy to fly. And it has so much tail
rotor authority. Pilots won’t have to worry about wind
with the Enstrom.” Isolair had flexibility in mind when
it developed the 120 gallon system. “There is a flow
control right in the cockpit, so adjusting the spray
volume is fast and easy. The tank mounts under the
belly, and the entire assembly, pumps, booms, and all
attaches with only a few quick disconnect pins. This
means that the helicopter can quickly be reconfigured
for other duties with a minimum of fuss.”
Enstrom
was assisted in the sale by the Samros Group. The
Samros Group specializes in selling aircraft and
equipment into Eastern Europe.
