Interior of the 480B Turbine
Just
because the Enstrom 480B's price is exceptionally attractive doesn't
mean that one must sacrifice cabin comfort or flexibility. In fact, the
480B offers more room, more visibility, and more seating options than
its more expensive competitors. It starts with a wide open seating
area, without any columns, posts, or partitions between occupants to
restrict movement or visibility. The pilots get adjustable seats,
adjustable pedals, and more arm and head room than in any other single
turbine helicopter. A novel seating arrangement provides each passenger
with excellent leg room and head room.

Transformation
is easy: seats clip out, controls unlatch, and bench seats along the
rear cabin fold down. These are also well padded and handsome in leather
- no mere jump seats."
- Helicopter World
"The
480 offers by far the more beautiful and more comfortable cabin, and
with visibility-guaranteed."
-Aerokurier
"The
comfort inside the 480(B) rivals that of some automobiles...interior
noise levels are low for a helicopter, and visibility is spectacular
for all occupants...the wide cabin doors facilitate graceful
egress"
- AOPA Pilot

In its normal configuration, the 480B accommodates up to five people, including
a single pilot. For lower density executive transport, the right front
seat can be removed to further enhance leg room. For pilot training,
the right front seat is moved outboard and the second set of controls
is installed. For cargo transport, the right front seat is removed and
the back seat is folded up. All of these transitions are easily
accomplished in minutes. This cabin flexibility is fundamental to the
480B's appeal as a low cost, multi-role helicopter.
Visibility is excellent for all occupants, particularly the pilots. In
addition to unequalled horizontal visibility, two sets of chin windows
and huge overhead windows combine to provide exceptional downward and
overhead visibility.
